My approach as a tutor is to sit down and create a tailored plan for their current goals. Typically I take the standards for each individual class and ensure that each student exceeds each standard. Since writing is the core of history, I spend time evaluating each student's writing for tests, essays, etc. and teach strategies to develop their writing.
