About Max
Hi, I'm Max, an undergraduate mathematics student from California.
I first started tutoring while still in high school as a volunteer. By doing this I both earned community service hours and gained my first bit of teaching experience.
After starting college, I got a job as an Academic Coach at a National Blue Ribbon school, Helix Charter High School. I completed over two full academic years there. I learned so much more about how to effectively tutor and build trustful relationships with my students.
Outside of my day job, I have also tutored high school and college students one-on-one, virtually and in-person.

I believe my greatest strength as a tutor is being able to spot holes in student learning or understanding. Many times, especially when it comes to math, at some point students learn something that doesn't click. They may still pass that class and move on, but they have a hole in their understanding now that could come up later. Through consistently working with a student I have been able to notice and fill those holes, setting my students up better for future learning.
