About Jack
I have been doing online tutoring for over 9 months and have more experience mentoring younger pupils as a student myself. In this time I have taken multiple students through to achieving their target.
As for outside of maths, I enjoy climbing and music where I've played guitar and bass for over 10 years now.
I like to keep the sessions casual, tutoring is not school and although it's not amazingly entertaining (we're still doing maths after all!) I don't want the sessions to be boring!

My strongest quality as a tutor is teaching exam technique and performance. Throughout all of the sessions, everything is taught in relation to the final exam. I believe this is the best approach all throughout the year no matter what grade you are aiming for.
Throughout my tutoring career, I have tutored people at all different levels both GCSE and A Level (covering Edexcel and AQA) meaning I am able to cater my style to your needs.
An important aspect of my lessons/ teaching style as a whole is adaptability. One-to-one tutoring allows the student to have their exact personal needs addressed. In all my sessions I will have a pre-made plan that we would follow but I am also always happy to adapt (or completely change) the plan if the student has something different to work on.
My typical lesson will follow this structure:
First, we will look at the Exam Specification together to get a better understanding of what is actually required for the exam.
Then, I will teach the topic that we are working on, emphasising a deeper understanding of the content. Throughout this I will be asking questions.
Then we will go into exam-style questions (as conserving real exam questions is very important). These will start at the simplest questions in the topic and expanding out to the hardest appropriate questions.
Finally we will discuss the next week's session and what we would like to do.
