About Maria
Reading, writing, talking and thinking about books, films, philosophy, politics, English and broader ideas, is what i'm passionate about. This allows me to provide engaging teaching about these topics.
I tutored students at school and University, which i found also helped me t understand topics better. During these previous tutoring experiences i learned the value of being able to explain 1 thing in 100 different ways to ensure students can understand it. Achieving my TESOL qualification in Thailand helped me to develop very structured and professional teaching techniques. This helped to finess my previous tutoring skills, making me a very well rounded teacher.
I have recently come back from a year abroad at San Fransisco State University during this i became the president of the International Education Exchange Council where i worked with hundreds of students from all over the world and making sure everyone felt settled and connected in this new city. This has exposed me to a wide range of people whilst also making myself understood and approachable to all these people.

I can offer help with textual analysis, answering techniques, essay structures and all things exam techniques. I can also help with content related material within all social subject areas as this is something i excelled in during school and University.
I have struggled with conventional studying methods and focusing when i was at school so i would love to bring some inspiration an enthusiasm to these subjects in a way i believe would have helped me during my exams!
I am an experienced teacher and taught English in Thailand for 3 months. Here I completed my TESOL teaching qualification.
I can tailor lesson plans to follow certain curriculum, providing a structured and progressive tutoring program to achieve set goals .
