About Camee
I am a university professor and PhD-trained cultural anthropologist with years of experience teaching and mentoring students in higher education. My academic background includes expertise in cultural anthropology, African American Studies, Latin American and Caribbean Studies, qualitative research, and academic writing. As an active researcher and scholar, I have done extensive ethnographic field research. I understand the demands students face when reading complex material, developing arguments, and completing research-based assignments. I bring a patient, professional, and encouraging approach to tutoring and enjoy helping students become more confident, independent learners.

My tutoring approach is supportive, conversational, and tailored to each student’s goals. I focus on helping students understand concepts deeply rather than simply memorizing information or receiving answers. I use guided discussion, examples, close reading, outlining, and step-by-step problem solving to help students strengthen both their subject knowledge and their academic confidence.
A typical lesson begins with a brief review of the student’s goals, assignment, or course material. From there, we identify the areas that need the most attention and work through them together using targeted explanation and practice. Depending on the student’s needs, a session may include reviewing readings, clarifying theoretical concepts, developing a research question, organizing an essay, strengthening an argument, preparing for an exam, or revising written work.
What sets me apart is my experience as a PhD-trained cultural anthropologist and university professor. I have extensive experience teaching undergraduate students, mentoring research, explaining complex theoretical ideas, and helping students improve their academic writing and critical thinking. My interdisciplinary background also allows me to support students in anthropology, sociology, African American Studies, Latin American and Caribbean Studies, qualitative research methods, academic writing, and French.
My lessons are best suited for high school, college, and graduate students who want individualized support with coursework, writing, research, or exam preparation. I especially enjoy working with students who may understand the material generally but need help organizing their ideas, making stronger analytical connections, or expressing those ideas more clearly in writing.
