About Laura
I have been teaching Civil Engineering and Introduction to Engineering courses for 15 years, and I LOVE engineering, math and physics. If you ask me "why", 9 out of 10 times, my answer is "PHYSICS!" and then I explain why. You may roll your eyes at this answer, but eventually you will start to marvel at how amazing math and science are and how much understanding them can help the world. While we are studying and learning together, I can recount the ways I've used math, physics, chemistry and coding to help people around the globe access water and food.

Hi, I'm a Civil Engineering Professor (PhD) with a passion for STEM education. My goal is to help middle and high school students not just understand, but truly enjoy these subjects. With my experience as a professor, I know how to motivate students to discover a personal connection to math, physics, chemistry, and computer science.
Our time together will start with you explaining what you have learned and where you are stuck and finding a way to help you get unstuck. I will help you explore the material and make sense of it in the real world - motivating you to succeed in the class
