About Karis

Hi! My name is Karis, and I graduated from Mansfield State High School with an ATAR of 97.2. I studied Accounting, Biology, Chemistry, Mathematical Methods, Specialist Mathematics, English as an Additional Language, and Chinese, with Biology and Mathematical Methods being my strongest subjects.

I am currently studying a Bachelor of Veterinary Science (Honours) at The University of Queensland, where I continue to build on my strong foundation in Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics. I am fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin, I provide both face-to-face and online tutoring. I aim to make lessons engaging, structured and tailored to each student’s individual learning style and goals.

About the lesson

For concept-based learning, I typically use clear and structured PowerPoint explanations, followed by examples and guided practice to ensure students understand the content rather than simply memorising it. For assessment preparation, I focus on practice questions, exam-style questions and mock exams, with targeted feedback to help students identify and improve areas of weakness.

Lessons are typically 60–90 minutes, but I am happy to adapt the lesson structure and approach depending on each student's needs, whether they require help catching up, consolidating concepts, preparing for assessments, or aiming for higher grades. I am passionate about helping students build both their academic skills and confidence, and I strive to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes as part of the learning process.
