About Garrett
Hello, I'm Garrett!
For the past 15 years, I've worked within the media industry for companies such as NBC, Universal Studios, and DirecTV. I have bachelor's degrees in film and software engineering.
Currently, I own and operate a video production company where we produce commercials/advertisements, drone cinematography, and training videos. Although I love the production side of the craft, video editing is where my passion lies.
Personally, I love to 3D model, make short films, 3D print random stuff, and hike with my wife and son.

My video editing lessons are hands-on and project-based. Instead of spending the entire lesson talking about tools and theory, I believe the best way to learn editing is by actually creating something.
Lessons can be tailored around your experience level and the type of videos you want to make. We can work through editing fundamentals, storytelling, pacing, music, sound design, color, transitions, organization, and the technical workflow of taking raw footage through to a finished video.
A typical lesson may include:
Reviewing your current project or goals
Learning a specific editing concept or technique
Working through an example together
Applying the technique to your own footage
Reviewing your edit and discussing ways to improve it
Learning professional workflow and organizational techniques
What sets me apart is that I approach video editing from both the technical and creative sides. Editing is more than knowing which buttons to press—it’s about understanding how images, sound, timing, and storytelling work together to keep an audience engaged.
These lessons are great for beginners, students, content creators, aspiring filmmakers, business owners, or anyone who wants to become more confident editing video.
