About Carmine
Holding an MMus from the Curtis Institute of Music suggests a life spent in practice rooms, yet I sometimes struggle to remember my first awkward grip on the bow. I have spent 13 years teaching violin, from the basics of posture and hold to complex orchestral playing.
My students range from beginners to those tackling grade exams like ABRSM or Trinity. We focus on left-hand agility, shifting positions, intonation, and tone production. Music theory provides the glue for these skills. Does this sound like the technical foundation you seek?

Adjusting my method to your specific gaps helps you improve faster. I admit that I cannot teach you to play if you do not know where your foundation is crumbling. My 13 years of experience 108 students taught and a rigorous MMus background allow me to identify weaknesses immediately. I perform a diagnostic assessment before setting the practice plan for your upcoming week.
This ensures that we address posture or vibrato before you build bad habits. It just makes sense to start there.
