About Alexander
Alexander Raab is an established and award-winning violinist and pedagogue known for developing young musicians into top level violinists. He performs regularly as a recitalist and chamber musician, and has toured extensively throughout the US, Europe and Asia. Alexander has maintained a large private violin studio where he teaches violin performance and music theory to students ages 3 - 22. His students have won numerous auditions and competitions nationally and have been accepted into various prestigious summer and collegiate programs such as the Summit Music Festival, Aspen Music Festival, Harvard, and the Julliard School.
Alexander has served as Director of the Centennial Chamber Orchestra and violin program, string specialist and coach for various Colorado Public School districts, and Director of Artist Relations for the Young Musicians Foundation of Colorado. Alexander received his B.M. in Violin from the Lamont School of Music and studied with Eugenia Alikhanova of the Moscow String Quartet, renowned soloist Linda Wang and the legendary violinist Aaron Rosand from the Curtis Institute.
Alexander is a firm believer that it is crucial to discover the power of self-study within the wise guiding lines of a mentor. His customized programs help foster growth in both violin and interpersonal skills. With this, he is able to bridge the gap between a teacher who can only teach beginners, and one that coaches only advanced, developed players.
All students are given weekly violin lessons as well as access to studio classes, group performances, quarterly recitals, and private summer and winter camps. All students are encouraged to enter competitions at various levels. Alexander offers unique opportunities and connections necessary to compete on an international stage.

A true professional and a great teacher! I have been taking remote violin lessons now for 6 months with Alexander, having switched after having had a mediocre experience with my previous teacher. Wow…what a difference. Alex blends his extensive knowledge, talent, and seriousness about his craft with a witty sense of humor. He is able to simplify the complexities of violin technique so it is truly accessible. It’s been great to have the remote flexibility as I travel frequently for work. Highly recommended.
I started taking violin lessons from Alexander two months ago and I can definitely say that he taught me a lot of things I didn’t know before. I had some violin background as a kid years ago and he made me realize what I did wrong and gave me so many tips to correct my mistakes and learn the right technique. There is no need to say that he is really talented and one of the best teacher you can find. I’m really glad that I was lucky enough to learn a lot of things from the pro and had a chance to see him play with me.
