About Abigail
I am a dedicated French tutor with a Bachelor's degree in French Language and Literature and over six years of experience teaching students from various backgrounds and proficiency levels. My interest in French began early and grew through immersive study, academic training, and travel, deepening my understanding of both the language and the cultures that speak it. Over the years, I’ve worked with school students, college learners, and adults, helping each one reach their specific goals—whether it’s preparing for exams, improving conversation skills, or starting from the basics. I believe that language learning should be practical, personalized, and engaging, and I take care to tailor my approach to fit each student’s needs, pace, and interests. What I enjoy most about teaching is seeing students gain confidence as they begin to express themselves in a new language. I focus not just on grammar and vocabulary, but also on pronunciation, listening skills, and real-world usage. My lessons often include cultural insights, music, and media to make learning more relevant and fun. Beyond teaching, I continue to expand my own language skills and stay connected to French-speaking communities. I bring this passion and perspective into every lesson, aiming to create an encouraging environment where students feel supported and motivated. Teaching French is not just my profession—it’s something I truly love doing.

My French lessons are designed to create a strong foundation while nurturing a real-world, practical grasp of the language. Whether you're starting from scratch or brushing up your skills, I tailor each session to your learning goals and pace. The lessons balance speaking, listening, reading, and writing, with an emphasis on using French in everyday situations.
For beginners, we focus on basic vocabulary, sentence structure, and pronunciation, while gradually introducing essential grammar concepts. Interactive exercises, role-playing, and simple conversations help reinforce what we cover in each session. I also incorporate visual aids and cultural references to keep learning both effective and engaging.
Intermediate and advanced students work on refining their grammar, expanding vocabulary, and strengthening their conversational skills. We dive deeper into verb tenses, complex sentence structures, and idiomatic expressions. I often use French articles, short stories, or media clips to improve comprehension and spark discussion—helping students learn in context and build confidence.
With six years of experience and a background in French studies, I bring a structured yet flexible teaching approach. My goal is not only to help students excel academically or professionally, but to develop a lasting appreciation for the French language and culture. Each lesson is a step toward becoming a more confident, fluent speaker.
