About Jennifer
As an experienced educator, I hold a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) degree from Marymount University, where my dissertation research focused on the impact of competency-based learning models on teacher efficacy, collaborative school culture, and collective teacher efficacy. Additionally, I earned a Master of Education (M.Ed.) degree in Secondary English Education from George Washington University and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in English from Converse College.
With over two decades of experience in education, I have honed my skills in creating innovative, supportive learning environments that cater to the unique needs of each student. My expertise lies in designing and implementing learner-centered curricula integrating project-based learning (PBL), inquiry-based learning (IBL), and design thinking.
Throughout my career, I have held various teaching and leadership positions in renowned schools, such as The Galloway School, The Mount Vernon School, the Ross School, and the Barrie School. As a Humanities Teacher, I have taught various subjects, including American Literature, World History, Academic Writing, and AP English Language and Composition.
As a Learning Architect at The Mount Vernon School, I led the Upper School Humanities/ELA department, overseeing the design and implementation of competency-based courses and assessments. I collaborated with teachers across disciplines to create interdisciplinary learning experiences and coached new teachers in best practices for curriculum design.
As Assistant Principal for Upper Learning at The Galloway School, I served as a visionary leader. I facilitated a supportive academic environment and implemented restorative behavior strategies. I also worked closely with faculty to design experiential courses and championed innovative teaching methods to enhance learning outcomes.
With my extensive experience in both teaching and educational leadership, I am well-equipped to provide personalized, high-quality tutoring services that empower students to reach their full potential.
