About Freya
With over 10 years of experience and a Graduate Certificate in French-English Translation, I bring a unique blend of language learning and environmental studies to my teaching. My lessons often include discussions on ecological issues, climate change, and sustainability, using authentic media from Francophone environmental initiatives. This approach helps students engage deeply with both the language and the urgent global challenges we face. I enjoy working with globally-minded students and professionals passionate about conservation and sustainable development. Together, we explore vocabulary and topics that empower meaningful conversations about the environment in French. My goal is to connect language skills with real-world impact. Through tailored lessons, I support learners in building confidence and fluency while expanding their understanding of environmental topics. I believe learning French can be a powerful tool for contributing to a sustainable future. Let’s work together to master the language and make a difference in the world.

My teaching approach centers on making French learning engaging and culturally rich, especially through art and history. We focus on discussing artworks, describing visual details, understanding key historical events, and expressing appreciation for aesthetics. I use a highly interactive style that encourages active participation and builds a strong vocabulary tailored to cultural topics.
Lessons include reading, speaking, and listening exercises based on authentic materials like museum descriptions, historical texts, and art critiques. This helps students connect language skills with meaningful content. I guide learners step-by-step to speak clearly and naturally about France’s heritage.
I work well with Travelers and Heritage Learners, providing patient and personalized support. My goal is to boost confidence in discussing complex cultural subjects in French. Together, we’ll explore fascinating stories and deepen your understanding of French language and culture.
You’ll gain the tools to express yourself fluently while appreciating the richness of France’s art and history. Let’s embark on this journey to unlock the beauty of French culture through language.
