About Makenna
Language study became a permanent fixture in my life because I found comfort in the structure of grammar. Learning to communicate felt like solving a complex puzzle that occupied my mind for hours.
I have taught 106 students the nuances of French pronunciation and authentic expression. My background includes a rigorous degree from the Curtis Institute of Music, which informs my disciplined approach to linguistic accuracy. I work with hobbyists, teens, and exam prep students who seek measurable progress in their skills.
You will find that my methods prioritize clarity and technical precision. We should discuss your goals when you feel ready.

Pacing remains a critical component of language acquisition, and I provide direct feedback that accelerates your retention. You start by examining the mechanics of French intonation before we move into complex role play scenarios. My lessons incorporate my 13 years of experience to ensure you grasp idiomatic expressions and common vocabulary. I rely on my formal training from the Curtis Institute of Music to break down reading comprehension into manageable segments.
You will practice listening exercises that simulate real world dialogues. I focus heavily on exam preparation for the DELF and DALF assessments. You receive constant critiques regarding your accent and overall phrasing.
We maintain a steady rhythm that builds your confidence through repeated, high quality practice. I anticipate our next session as we continue this methodical journey together.
