About Kira

I was a gymnast and competitive cheerleader for 13 years. I began taking yoga lessons in 2016, and I became certified to teach Vinyasa Flow yoga in December 2018. Both of my degrees (Bachelor's and Master's) are in environmental and outdoor education. I like to combine both of my passions by doing yoga and meditation outdoors. Join me in practice to slow down, focus on our breath, and feel our deep connection to the Earth and to the Universe.

About the lesson

I am very focused on foundational strength and proper alignment. My background in gymnastics has given me a wealth of knowledge in this area. I spent three years coaching gymnastics, so I am comfortable assisting and adjusting students. That being said, I also view yoga as a personal journey and I believe listening to our bodies is the most important thing we can do. It is more important to be comfortable in a pose than to have what might only appear to be "perfect" alignment. I am compassionate towards others and I aim to find the balance between loving where our body is at and gently pushing the boundaries of where we can go. I use this approach in both the physical asana practice and the spiritual meditation practice.
