About Arabella
Hello! I’m Arabella, an experienced 500h+ certified yoga teacher and first class BSc Psychology graduate, currently teaching in India and continuing my studies. My experience as a practitioner and teacher of yoga: I first encountered yoga as a child, watching, and mirroring my mum's asana practice. Fortunately she encouraged me to attend Iyengar classes very early in my life. My love of yoga deepened while I was at university studying psychology, which I had primarily chosen with the long term aim of ‘helping people’, yet I realised I was sandwiching my labs and lectures with yoga classes, and found these be sustaining my mental health and profoundly regulating my nervous system in a way nothing else had. Upon graduating, I attended first yoga teacher training in Rishikesh (the yoga capital of the world, situated in northern India), where I studied and practised Shatkarama (cleansing techniques), Pranayama (methods of breath control), Vedic Philosophy, Anatomy and Physiology, Alignment and Adjustment, Ashtanga and Vinyasa sequences, and various methods of Meditation. Following my training, I taught across South East Asia for 8 months, while continuing my studies. I then returned to Rishikesh for my advanced teacher training, which further intensified my practice and focused on how to convey yoga to students. My teachers invited me to stay on at the school as an assistant teacher. Here I had the chance to consolidate the information I had learnt and practise teaching students under their guidance, over several months. I also studied Hatha, yoga therapy, and yin, with several teachers in the area during this time. I then lived in Sri Lanka for 6 months where I stayed for prolonged periods in Buddhist meditation centres, monasteries, and I undertook silent Vipassana courses. I also taught yoga on the Sri Lankan coast, teaching and living at successful start up studio, as the on-site manager. I pursued yoga further in India, this time studying at many traditional yoga ashrams and meditation centres across the south, learning from different lineages to broaden my scope as a teacher. I returned to my teachers in Rishikesh to continue studying under them, before I headed home to the UK. Once I returned home, I facilitated community classes and I worked full time at a private members club in London where I designed, developed, and led the yoga programme, teaching regular classes and training staff to deliver sessions that I had planned. I also completed additional teacher training specialising in early years and parent and baby/child yoga. It has been fulfilling to share this practice with families and see little ones experience yoga for the first time, watching them develop. I am now back in India teaching in person and online, continuing to learn and share what has resonated for me as a student and within my self practice.

I teach from the heart: weaving together somatic breathwork, mindful movement, philosophy and meditation to cultivate presence and peace. I intend to create a warm atmosphere that helps you anchor into each moment using your breath and bodily sensation to sink into the gaps between thoughts. I enjoy sequencing energetic and slow flows, while guiding you into a calm, meditative state. Whether you want a deeply restorative Yin class, a dynamic Vinyasa flow, or a playful session you can share with your child, I’m here to support your practice! I welcome all levels and ages, whether you are a complete beginner or an experienced practitioner, running or not yet walking. My approach is inclusive and adaptable: I offer individual private sessions, group, and corporate classes, and I tailor each practice to your needs and intentions.
