About Sonny

Native Austinite now living 1/2 the year in Colorado skiing. What to do with my summer? Superprof it I figured. Bought the student pass and here I am.

I’ve spent years working inside data center infrastructure, enterprise storage systems, and high-performance compute environments—including systems supporting AI workloads and hybrid quantum-classical operations.

- I don’t teach trends.
- I teach the layer everything else depends on.

Right now, most people are chasing AI tools.

Very few understand the infrastructure that actually makes those tools possible.

That gap is where opportunity lives.

If you understand how systems behave—performance, failure, scale, recovery—you’re not competing with the crowd.

You’re operating underneath it.

That’s what I teach.

About the lesson

# Who This Is For:

* You’re trying to enter tech through a durable, non-trivial path

*You’re already in tech but know you’re operating at a shallow level

*You want skills that don’t get automated out from under you
You’re willing to think, not just follow tutorials

*If you’re looking for shortcuts or surface-level answers, this won’t be a fit.

# What You’ll Learn

This is not a general overview.
It’s a structured path into infrastructure-level thinking.

Core Systems

* How data centers actually function under load
* Storage systems: block, file, object—real use cases and tradeoffs
* Latency, throughput, IOPS—how they shape system behavior

Applied Engineering

* SAN / NAS architecture and decision-making
* Bottleneck identification and performance tuning
* Designing for scale, redundancy, and failure
* Disaster recovery and resilience planning
*Modern Context (Where This Actually Matters Now)

*How AI workloads depend on storage + compute balance
Data pipelines and infrastructure constraints
HPC environments and GPU-driven systems

*Where quantum + classical systems intersect in practice

Perfect! I booked a session with Sonny while trying to build a stronger infrastructure foundation for newer AI and hyperscale data center roles, and honestly it exceeded expectations. He has a way of explaining complex systems—storage, latency, bottlenecks, redundancy, performance tradeoffs—in a way that finally clicks and feels connected to real-world environments. You can immediately tell he’s actually worked deeply in this space and isn’t just repeating textbook material. The session was engaging, practical, and genuinely valuable. Easily one of the best technical learning experiences I’ve had.

# How I Work

* Sessions are focused and direct
* I will challenge your assumptions
* You’ll be expected to engage—not passively listen
* You’re not paying for information.
*You’re paying to compress years of experience into usable understanding.

# Positioning

This is not general tutoring.

** READ TWICE. **

This is for people who want to:

* Break into infrastructure, cloud, or AI-adjacent roles
* Understand systems deeply enough to operate in them
build a foundation that compounds over time
