About Zhiying
I am a fully qualified teacher with extensive experience teaching A-Level Mathematics, further maths and Physics in mainstream secondary schools. Over the past 10+ years, I have taught the full A-Level syllabus—including Core Mathematics, Pure, Mechanics, Statistics, and Further Pure Mathematics and Further Mechanics—within formal school settings, giving me deep insight into curriculum requirements, examination standards, and the specific challenges students face in tackling exam questions.
Track Record of Results
My students consistently achieve the best possible grades at GCSE and A-Level. Many have secured places at their preferred universities, while others have moved up two grade levels within a single term—some showing 50% improvement in performance in just one term. I have helped students across the ability range, from those in lower sets exploring their full potential to those achieving the highest marks across entire year groups. Students frequently report that subject material becomes significantly easier to follow once we work through it together, leading to greater confidence and stronger performance in their mainstream school classes.
Additional Expertise
Beyond A-Level and GCSE Mathematics and Physics, I also prepare students for:
11+ and Common Entrance exams (Mathematics, Comprehension, Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning, Writing)
7+ and 13+ entrance assessments
GCSE Mandarin (listening and speaking focus)
I welcome students of all ages who are seeking structured, results-driven private tuition. Parent recommendations are available upon request.

Zhiying has been tutoring my daughter for 3 months now and can honestly say i have noticed a great improvement. Zhiying has been teaching my daughter ways of working out how to do fractions Many thanks!!!!!!!:)
With Zhiying's help, my son is able to pass his A level maths with a very good grade and has been accepted into his dream University.
I am very happy with Zhiying's tuition. She has helped my daughter a lot. My daughter has gained so much confidence in maths. She is able to get a A in GCSE maths.
Zhiying is an excellent teacher, my daughter was able to pass 11+ with very decent score. She also teaches my older daughter maths. My daughter is very happy with her style of teaching and has found maths so much easier to understand now.
Excellent tutor - very happy! My sons aged 7 and 8 have ever been so confident at speaking Mandarin. They have improved dramaticly over last year,
Its been a good start, and Ying has quickly identified the strengths and weaknesses of both children.
I was slightly apprehensive about using a tutor recommended on line and did not know what to expect in terms of the quality of the tutorials. However, after 4 one hour sessions I can say that I am extremley pleased with the service provided by Zhiying. During the first session she identified my son's learning needs and set objectives for him to meet and is currently working towards these. . I would definitely recommend Zhiying as a maths tutor. She is an effective teacher and a patient person.
Zhiying Zhao has been great with my son - especially noticing when he is tired and flagging and then catching his attention with a maths game or an interesting idea. I have noticed a change even after 4 classes.
Although my daughter has only yet had a few lessons with Mrs Zhiying she is already benefiting from her tuition. Mrs Zhiying is very patient and finds different ways to explain topics that are not easily understood the first time. After each session my daughter finds that she can tackle even the more complicated questions on that topic. I would recommend Mrs Zhiying and hope she continues to improve our daughter's confidence in maths
I am quite happy with the teaching of Zhiying. I have had two lessons with her and I feel like I have learned quite a bit and I look forward to our next lessons
