One of our best tutors. Quality profile, experience in their field, verified qualifications and a great response time. Habiba will be happy to arrange your first Biology lesson.

About Habiba

Having studied biochemistry at Imperial College London (and recently graduated from Oxford) I have been teaching in person and over Zoom for about 7 years now and have honed and developed tactics to maximise online lesson productivity to levels much higher than with face-to-face lessons. I received A*s in both chemistry and biology at A level (high school leaving) and was awarded the Pearson High Achievers certificate for a very high grade in A level Chemistry. As well as teaching, I have sat on the board of directors of a registered women’s education startup, and am an international speaker in areas including science and policy for young people.

About the lesson

My research into positive education is the foundation to my lessons. I primarily focus on making my lessons enjoyable and interesting, with an understanding-based approach (no rote-learning!) By responding to the needs and moods of my students on a day-to-day basis, I tweak the methods I use in each session. While speaking over Skype or Zoom and using a whiteboard for diagrams and exercises, I communicate written information over a shared Google Drive folder which leaves students with completed, bespoke notes ready for revision after our session. As well as that, I send worksheets to complete and questions that we can complete together, and recommend revision tactics backed by research to be the most effective study tools. I believe that chemistry and biology learning should be discussion based initially to help us use logic and reasoning to draw conclusions, these are processes in the brain which solidify memory and understanding and give you a really good basis to learn exam technique with the correct information.

Please note I have a 100% cancellation fee for lessons cancelled within 24h of the scheduled time.

Perfect! Excellent Tutor – Highly Recommended

My daughter (Y10) has had a couple of lessons with Habiba and has thoroughly enjoyed every session. Habiba is a kind, patient, and highly knowledgeable tutor who explains topics in a simple and easy-to-understand way, making them easier to learn, remember, and retain.

One aspect my daughter particularly appreciates is Habbiba's focus on answering exam-style questions and developing effective techniques for tackling them. She finds this approach extremely useful and helpful in building both her understanding and confidence.

Habbiba creates a positive, supportive, and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and are able to thrive. We are very pleased with the progress so far and would highly recommend Habbiba to anyone looking for an excellent tutor.

Habiba was recommenced as a brilliant tutor to me by my friend and has helped me immensely. My grade for chemistry was quite low, but she brought it up by miles and I regained a lot of confidence within the subject. She was an incredible teacher; patient and kind and funny. We were able to cover lots of weak points and she helped to refresh my knowledge over some topics I hadn’t covered in a while. She was a brilliant teacher!

My son Adam just finished his IGCSE, his least favorite subject was Chemistry.

He was still in year 10 and I needed tuition and tried few teachers until I found a brilliant A level student Ms.Habiba El Khatib.

Her passion for chemistry and learning were contagious, she’d deliver the information and boost his energy on any day.

The following year Habiba left to the UK to study chemistry. And we continued the lessons online, which proved very useful when Covid-10 hit and we were all in lock down.

Habiba’s professionalism , commitment and knowledge make her the very best for teaching my son or any other student.

I can’t praise her enough.

Habiba helped me study for my a levels, and not only is she extremely motivated herself, she extended this motivation to me and always boosted my self confidence, making sure I understood what she was teaching me before moving on. She’s also very thorough in her teaching which is a huge plus point as it ensures that you fully know about a topic and goes through exam technique which is especially helpful for the new more specific markschemes.
