About Tim
I’m Tim Scannell, a profoundly Deaf tutor passionate about teaching and promoting accessibility. With over 18 years of experience, I specialise in British Sign Language (BSL) lessons, Deaf Awareness, and Accessibility Training. I hold qualifications in BSL Level 6, PTLLS, and IAG. My lessons are conducted via Zoom and typically last 2-3 hours per session, with breaks included. I use breakout rooms for paired learning and follow Signature's curriculum through engaging PowerPoint slides. With 30% teaching and 70% student-led practice, I guide and polish students' skills to ensure their confidence and success. A tutor since 2005, I hold qualifications in IAG, PTLLS, and BSL Level 6. Teaching runs in my family, and their influence has fuelled my passion for helping others learn.
