About Arthur

In my professional career, I have played for drag queens, performing lady gaga and David Bowie; in theatre shows, soloing over Grease and improvising in Curtains; and taught for a fantastic year with the music society at York.

having performed in folk bands, Hard rock groups, jazz and blues bands, I have a wide knowledge of genre and theory, able to apply my experience to a range of different situations. I have a great love and passion for music composition and, with past students, have gone through numerous composition exercises, encouraging people's creativity to shine.

The versatility and heritage of the guitar means tat it can lead you down a whole number of musical routes. It is so often helpful and important to have a teacher who has professional experience, is willing to help you with technical ability, and to become the musician that you want to be.

What kind of a musician do you want to be?
This question is the centre of my teaching, focusing around what you personally love about music and what you want to achieve in your own journey. Learning a practical and technical attitude to your instrument through the music and artists you admire will build a passion and interest that should last the duration of our time together.

I have been a teacher with the university of York music society for the past year and have but up a portfolio of teaching experience with a range of different students. My lessons can range from 30 minutes to an hour, and I can tutor from beginner to advanced level guitar and bass.

I believe that becoming a musician is about passion and hard-work. If you're interested in finding out what and who you could be in the future, get in touch and we'll begin to plan your progress immediately.
