About Megan
I am an industry filmmaker and experienced media tutor who is patient, supportive and passionate about helping students develop creative confidence. I have worked with learners aged 5 to 25 and specialise in supporting students with a range of disabilities, creating inclusive and encouraging learning environments where students feel comfortable exploring their creativity.
Alongside teaching, I work across a variety of film and television productions in roles such as runner, production assistant and researcher. I have contributed to major productions including the Paralympics and Winter Paralympics with Whisper, as well as BBC productions through Afanti. This industry experience allows me to bring practical insight into my teaching and help students understand how professional productions operate.
I teach filmmaking from beginner level through to GCSE and BTEC Level 2, helping students develop both creative ideas and technical skills such as cinematography, editing, lighting, scriptwriting, production planning and storytelling. My lessons focus on building practical filmmaking knowledge while encouraging students to experiment, develop their own style and gain confidence in their abilities.

My teaching approach is practical, supportive and tailored to each student. Filmmaking is best learnt through hands-on experience, so my lessons focus on developing practical skills alongside understanding the creative and technical side of production. Depending on the student's goals, we can work on areas such as cinematography, editing, storytelling, lighting, scriptwriting, sound and production planning. I also support students with developing ideas, structuring projects and understanding how professional productions operate.
I currently teach filmmaking and media production through education programmes and film clubs, working with learners aged 5 to 25. I have experience supporting students with a range of disabilities and aim to create inclusive lessons where every student feels comfortable developing their skills and confidence. I teach students from beginner level through to GCSE to BTEC Level 2, helping them build both creative and technical knowledge.
