About Fiona

With a Master’s degree in Instrumental and Vocal Performance and over eight years of teaching experience, I am dedicated to guiding students in their journey with both the violin and electric violin. My extensive background in music education and performance allows me to offer expert instruction that is both comprehensive and personalized. I am passionate about making the learning process enjoyable and effective, catering to students of all levels from beginners to advanced players.

My teaching approach is centered around creating a supportive and engaging learning environment. I tailor each lesson to meet the individual needs and goals of my students, whether they are just starting out or looking to refine advanced techniques. My lessons encompass a range of styles and genres, from classical to modern, ensuring that students receive a well-rounded education that fosters both technical skill and musical expression.

I believe in the importance of combining technical training with creativity and emotional expression. My lessons not only focus on developing essential techniques such as bowing and fingerings but also on encouraging students to explore their own musical voice. Interactive exercises, improvisation, and diverse repertoire are integral parts of my teaching, aimed at helping students connect deeply with the music they play.

Performance opportunities are a key aspect of my teaching philosophy. I encourage students to participate in recitals and other performance events to build confidence and stage presence. My goal is to create an inspiring and motivating environment where students can thrive, achieve their musical aspirations, and develop a lasting passion for the violin and electric violin.

About the lesson

Our violin and electric violin lessons are crafted to offer a comprehensive and enjoyable learning experience, tailored to your individual needs. With a Master’s degree in Instrumental and Vocal Performance and over eight years of teaching experience, I provide expert guidance to help you master both traditional and modern techniques. Whether you are a complete beginner or an advanced player, my lessons are designed to support your growth and development in the violin world.

For beginners, the focus is on building a solid foundation in technique and music theory. We start with essential skills such as proper posture, bowing techniques, and basic music reading. As you progress, lessons introduce more advanced concepts, including intricate fingerings, dynamic expression, and complex repertoire. My approach ensures that each lesson is engaging and suited to your pace, helping you build confidence and proficiency.

In addition to technical training, I emphasize the importance of musical expression and creativity. Students explore a wide range of genres, from classical to contemporary, and develop their own unique style. Lessons include interactive exercises and opportunities for improvisation to enhance your musicality and interpretative skills. This approach not only improves technical ability but also fosters a deeper connection to the music.

Performance is a key component of our lessons, and I encourage students to participate in recitals and informal performances. These experiences provide valuable practice and help build stage presence. My goal is to create a supportive and inspiring environment where you can enjoy the learning process, achieve your musical goals, and fully embrace your journey with the violin and electric violin.
