About Misbah
Hello, I am Misbah, a PhD Candidate in Epidemiology at the University of Calgary. I help students learn epidemiology, public health, biology, statistics, data analysis, and scientific writing in a clear, simple, and confidence-building way.
My teaching style is patient, friendly, and step-by-step. I know that subjects like statistics, research methods, biology, and scientific writing can feel overwhelming, so I break them down into digestible explanations using practical examples, practice questions, and real-world applications.
Whether you are a high-school student looking for support in biology, basic math, or statistics, a university student studying epidemiology or public health, or someone needing help with data analysis and academic writing, I will meet you at your level and help you move forward with confidence.
My goal is to make learning less stressful, more enjoyable, and more meaningful. I create a supportive space where students feel comfortable asking questions, building strong foundations, improving their performance, and gaining lasting academic confidence.

My lessons are designed to make difficult topics easier to understand, less stressful, and more practical. Each session is personalized based on the student’s level, goals, and specific areas of difficulty.
Each lesson begins by identifying what the student already understands and where they feel stuck. Then, I explain the topic step by step using simple language, practical examples, diagrams when helpful, and guided practice questions. I encourage students to ask questions freely, make mistakes, and learn in a supportive environment.
For high-school students, I offer support in biology, basic mathematics, and statistics, with a focus on building strong foundations, solving problems, and preparing for assignments or exams.
For university students, I provide tutoring in epidemiology, public health, research methods, biostatistics, data analysis, and scientific writing. I can also support students and early researchers with academic writing, manuscript organization, interpretation of results, and improving the clarity of their drafts.
My goal is to help students understand the logic behind each topic, not just memorize answers. By the end of each lesson, students should feel more confident, better organized, and more prepared to study or complete their work independently.
