Geoffrey D. Calhoun is a produced screenwriter, bestselling author, script consultant, and educator with experience in film, television, and independent filmmaking.

His screenwriting credits include *Finding Nicole*, *The Past Comes Knocking* (Lifetime), *The Caretaker* (Tubi), and *Dark Deception* (Tubi).

He is the author of *The Guide for Every Screenwriter*, a bestselling screenwriting book used by aspiring writers and in educational settings, and *The Rewrite Workbook*, a practical guide to strengthening and refining screenplays.

As the founder of WeFixYourScript and host of *The Successful Screenwriter* podcast, Geoffrey has dedicated his career to helping writers develop compelling characters, strengthen story structure, and turn their ideas into finished screenplays.

His teaching approach combines professional industry experience with practical, personalized instruction. Whether you're writing your first screenplay, struggling with a rewrite, or preparing a script for the marketplace, Geoffrey focuses on helping you understand not just what works in a story, but why it works.

I was asked to design a screenwriting class for filmmaking students in Ghana, Africa. From there I traveled the United States teaching my class at seminars and film festivals. Eventually, I turned my class into a book and created The Guide For Every Screenwriter which became a best seller.

I am the founder of WeFixYourScript.com and have been a screenwriter and script consultant for over 10 years. I am sought out by producers and directors to work on scripts at various stages of development from concept design to pre-production.

About the lesson

My screenwriting lessons are tailored to each student's experience, goals, and creative interests. Whether you're starting with an idea, developing your first screenplay, or working through a challenging rewrite, we'll focus on the skills you need to move your story forward.

I take a practical, hands-on approach to teaching. Rather than simply lecturing, I work directly with you to develop your ideas, explore creative possibilities, and strengthen your storytelling skills.

My teaching philosophy is simple: **Character is choice.** Understanding why characters make decisions is essential to creating stories that resonate with audiences.

Every writer is different, and I believe instruction should reflect that. My goal is to help you develop your own voice, build confidence in your storytelling, and leave each session with practical tools you can apply to your writing.

I’ve read many screenwriting books but i don’t seem to get through them, the wording scared me. I took this class with the hope that it would be fun and informative. IT WAS! Screenwriting is not easy but the book lays out each step in a way that was easy to read. The book is straightforward and has updated references to help get the concepts down. The class was one investment I don’t regret. Highly recommend this book, It’s a game changer !
