About Nicholas

I have been playing professional gigs and teaching for over two decades. In 2002 I won Guitarist magazine's Guitarist of The Year; the judging panel included Guthrie Govan, a previous winner. I have a passion for the guitar but also passing on knowledge and helping students to play those things that seem out of reach and impossible. I believe that with focus and commitment you can play anything that you want to play regardless of your current ability.

About the lesson

I have 20+ years experience of coaching students from age 7 to 70. I have students who are taking their first steps on the instrument and also those preparing for degree level exams. If you are looking to move from 'Beginner' to 'Intermediate' or from 'Intermediate' to 'Advanced' or simply want to learn some new songs, techniques or ideas, I am confident that I can help you.

Popular topics include:

-Playing Chord/Melody
-Improvising Over Changes
-Practical Harmony and Theory for Guitar
-Expanding Your Repertoire
-Composing for Guitar
-Understanding Modes
-Developing Fast Alternate Picking
-Legato Playing
-RnB/Neo-Soul Rhythm Guitar
-Playing Bebop
-Playing 'Outside
