About Emery

Hello! I am a dedicated violin tutor with 8 years of teaching experience and a Diploma in Classical Violin. My teaching approach blends classical precision with modern artistic expression, helping students develop both technical mastery and personal musicality. I focus on essential skills such as bowing, vibrato, phrasing, and interpretation to bring music to life. Lessons are tailored to each student’s level, from beginner to advanced, ensuring steady progress and confidence. I have extensive experience preparing students for orchestral performances and music exams, providing practical strategies for success. My sessions combine structured practice with interactive, engaging exercises to maintain enthusiasm and motivation. I guide students to understand musical pieces deeply, focusing on expression, tone, and emotional impact. Ensemble and orchestral skills are emphasised to help students perform confidently in group settings. I encourage creativity through improvisation and modern repertoire while grounding students in classical foundations. I prioritise a supportive environment where students feel comfortable experimenting and growing. Every lesson aims to inspire a lasting passion for the violin. Join me to refine your technique, expand your musical expression, and achieve your performance goals with confidence.

About the lesson

My teaching approach is designed to help students develop both technical skill and musical expression on the violin. I focus on classical repertoire while encouraging creative improvisation to make learning enjoyable and personal. Rhythm precision, bowing techniques, and finger placement are emphasised to build a solid foundation. I integrate ensemble skills, teaching students how to play confidently with others and understand musical interplay. Lessons are tailored to each student’s pace and goals, whether starting fresh or refining advanced skills. I provide exercises that strengthen intonation, phrasing, and musical interpretation. For those exploring performance or public playing, I guide them to gain confidence and overcome stage challenges. Creative exercises and improvisation help students find their unique musical voice. I combine structured practice with interactive, fun activities to maintain engagement. Cultural context and historical background are woven into lessons to deepen understanding of pieces. I encourage consistent practice while celebrating small achievements to keep motivation high. My goal is to help students excel and enjoy the journey of learning the violin. Each session is designed to inspire growth, musicality, and a lasting passion for the instrument.
