About Alyssa

With a Master’s degree in Instrumental and Vocal Performance and over eight years of experience as a music teacher, I am dedicated to guiding students in both traditional and electric violin. My extensive background in performance and education allows me to offer a well-rounded approach to learning, whether you're just starting out or seeking to enhance your existing skills. My passion for teaching and music drives me to provide a supportive and engaging environment for every student.

My teaching philosophy focuses on personalization and versatility. I believe that every student has unique goals and learning styles, which is why I tailor each lesson to fit individual needs. From fundamental techniques to advanced skills, my lessons are designed to build a strong technical foundation while also fostering artistic expression. Whether you’re interested in classical repertoire or exploring contemporary electric violin styles, I offer a diverse and enriching musical experience.

In addition to technical training, I emphasize the importance of performance skills and musical interpretation. Drawing from my extensive performance experience, I help students develop confidence and stage presence, preparing them for both formal performances and casual settings. My aim is to not only improve technical proficiency but also to enhance your overall musicality and ability to connect with audiences.

Outside of teaching, I remain actively involved in the music community, staying updated with the latest trends and innovations in the field. This ongoing engagement allows me to bring fresh insights and contemporary practices into my lessons. My ultimate goal is to inspire a lifelong love for music and support each student in reaching their full potential as a musician.

About the lesson

In my violin lessons, each session is designed to provide a comprehensive and personalized approach to mastering both traditional and electric violin techniques. We start by assessing your current skill level and musical goals, whether you're a beginner looking to start from scratch or an advanced player seeking to refine your technique. This initial evaluation allows me to tailor the lessons to fit your specific needs, ensuring a customized learning experience.

Our lessons cover a broad range of topics, including technical skills, musical expression, and performance practice. For traditional violin, we focus on fundamental techniques such as bowing, intonation, and finger placement, as well as exploring various styles and repertoires from classical to contemporary. For electric violin, we delve into aspects like amplification, effects, and genre-specific techniques, offering a unique twist to your violin learning journey. By integrating these elements, I aim to make each lesson both educational and engaging.

I also place a strong emphasis on developing your musicality and performance skills. We work on building confidence through practical exercises, live performance practice, and interpretation of different musical pieces. My goal is to help you not only improve technically but also to express yourself artistically and connect with your audience effectively.

Throughout our sessions, I provide continuous feedback and support to help you progress and overcome challenges. My approach is to create a positive and motivating environment where you feel encouraged to explore and enjoy your violin journey. Whether you're preparing for a performance or simply looking to enhance your skills, I'm dedicated to helping you achieve your musical aspirations and make the learning process enjoyable.

With a Master’s in Instrumental and Vocal Performance, I offer personalized violin and electric violin lessons. With 8+ years of teaching experience, learning is both easy and enjoyable.
