About Shannon
I am a student currently in my fourth year of completing an honors bachelor's of science biology degree. (HBSc biology). I am currently writing a thesis in the field of urban risks to wildlife ecology focusing on inground pools. I love teaching people about my studies and am very passionate about science, hoping to pass that on to others. I love talking about what academia looks like which may be helpful for 12th-grade students, as I remember how confusing it all was back then. I love birds and can also give tips for birdwatching and wildlife photography which are two of my favorite pastimes. Overall very excited to talk about biology!

I'm super passionate about biology and science in general! I have taken a wide array of courses in my degree and can help with not only biology but chemistry as well. I can also help with first-year science undergraduate students as I know how difficult that material can be. High school students get the added bonus of being able to work through choosing post-secondary programs with me if wanted. I can also shed insight into what goes into honors degrees and thesis work. Overall very passionate to teach science to an array of ages!
