I have spent many years in academic research labs, working on my own projects, assisting others, and managing laboratory operations. I’m now offering Biology tutoring, combining professional subject experience with a thorough understanding of the key A level themes. I’m also supporting my own daughter through A level Biology, so I know first-hand where students get stuck.

I’m friendly, patient, and want to help every student do their best. I offer a free 30 minute introductory meeting to discuss exam board, current grades, target grades, and the areas you'd like to improve.

I tutor AQA and Edexcel A level Biology, as well as GCSE.

A-Level Biology requires more than just memorising facts—to achieve higher grades, students must understand practical design, experimental analysis, the use of maths, and the exact language of the mark scheme. Having spent 25 years working as a research assistant and laboratory manager in top-tier university departments, I don't just teach biology from a textbook—I’ve spent my career with these experimental techniques and biological concepts.

How I help my students:
Practicals: I use my lab experience to help with practical questions (variables, controls, error analysis, graphs).
Mark-Scheme Mastery: Students will learn exact keywords and structures examiners look for in the higher mark questions.
Maths Confidence: Clear, step-by-step guidance, for example with Chi-squared, Student's t-test, correlation coefficients.
Confidence Building: I offer a supportive, patient environment where students feel safe asking questions, breaking down complex topics into clear, manageable steps.
