About Cristina
I am a dedicated and passionate biology tutor with a strong academic background in both the life sciences and physical sciences. As a current student majoring in Nutrition and Physics on the pre-med track at Ohio State University, I bring a well-rounded and interdisciplinary approach to teaching biology. My experience in clinical and research settings allows me to connect biological concepts to real-world applications, making learning both engaging and practical. Each session is designed to maximize comprehension and confidence in biology. A typical lesson includes: Review & Reinforcement – Brief recap of previous material to solidify knowledge. Concept Breakdown – Step-by-step explanations with visual aids and examples. Application & Practice – Engaging exercises, problem-solving, and real-world connections. Q&A & Summary – Addressing questions and summarizing key takeaways for better retention.

Teaching Method and Techniques:
I take an interactive, student-focused approach, breaking down complex biological concepts using real-world examples, visuals, and mnemonics. I encourage questions, discussions, and active problem-solving to reinforce understanding. I also use spaced repetition and active recall to help with long-term retention.
Typical Lesson Plan:
Quick Review – Go over previous material to reinforce key concepts.
New Topic Introduction – Explain with visuals, examples, and connections to prior knowledge.
Application – Work through practice questions, case studies, or discussions.
Q&A and Recap – Clarify doubts and summarize key takeaways.
What Sets Me Apart:
I adapt my teaching to each student’s learning style and focus on making biology engaging and relatable. With my background in nutrition and physics, I offer a unique perspective, connecting biology to real-life applications in health and medicine.
Who the Lessons Are For:
I tutor high school and college students in biology, including general biology, AP Biology, and introductory college-level courses. I also help pre-med students strengthen their foundation for exams like the MCAT.
